Kristin wanted a simple wedding surrounded by family and close friends and after the wedding she told me "This was exactly what I wanted!"
She was proudly escorted into the garden by her father, Theo.
Garrett was waiting for his bride and after Daddy placed her hand into Garrett's then they turned and faced each other as their family and friends looked on.In addition to their adorable daughter, Jaylyn, Kristin and Garrett are expecting an addition to their family in a few months so we included the "blessing of the unborn baby" in their ceremony. In the ceremony I ask them both to place their hands on the baby as I say to the baby: "Precious child of light—we bless all that is needed that your life might unfold in God’s perfect pattern."
They exchanged their vows and their rings and then we had the family unity sand ceremony.
Kristin and Garrett poured in half their sand, then helped Jaylyn pour in hers, then the baby's sand, then the remaining sand of Kristin and Garrett, sandwiching their two children between their layers.
What a pretty layering of sand representing this new family. Kristin found some nice glass vases for this occasion and had them engraved.
It was now time for the pronouncement of marriage followed by the kiss that seals their vows!
The guests lined up in two rows and blew bubbles on the newlyweds as they walked through them.
The happy couple and their precious daughter, Jaylyn, now bound together by matrimony! They were headed off to celebrate in a nice restaurant in Durham. Kristin and Garrett, I wish you all the happiness in the world. You have a wonderful supportive family surrounding you. Please call on me to do a baby blessing for you when your new baby is 3 to 6 months old. I would love to meet this child!
