Amelia and Tyler's Beautiful Wedding at Homewood Suites in Cary!

Amelia contacted me last January about officiating hers and Tyler's wedding at Homewood Suites in Cary on September 26, 2015. The original plans were for the ceremony to be outside on the terrace but that rainy weekend all weddings were forced inside and as you can see in the photos below, it was not a terrible thing!
The lodge-like lobby of the hotel is really a great wedding venue. With the mezzanine overlooking the ceremony you could have quite a number of guests. I have done several weddings here and I am surprised it is not more popular. Marie Flynn is their event coordinator and had the wedding activities well planned out with the couple.
Up off the open mezzanine is the ballroom which is quite spacious. Our DJ, Michael, with All Around Raleigh DJ, had his main system all set up in front of the dance floor. Their photographers were Trey and Elisa with In Contrast Images. The florist was Fallan's Flowers
Amelia and Tyler made these cute little boxes for their guests.
The color scheme was  purple.
Edible Art made this sweet wedding cake!
Daniel's Restaurant catered and put out a fabulous spread for the buffet.
The ceremony area was ready and the aisle roped off until the guests were to be seated.
Our DJ was positioned up on the upper level overlooking the ceremony on the right so he could see what was happening.
They guys and I entered from the side and took our places.
Then the bridesmaids processed from the mezzanine down the stairway and around and down the aisle.
Amelia's father walked her down the aisle and transferred her hand into Tyler's.
I then stepped up onto the hearth so the bride and groom would have more space to turn and face each other.
And so the ceremony began. Amelia and Tyler met at Appalachian State back in 2008 when they were both students. They sensed their compatibility with each other from the beginning and have been together all these years.
The proposal story was entertaining and everyone enjoyed hearing what they love about each other and what they are looking forward to in marriage.
The vows and rings were next.
Amelia places the ring on Tyler's finger.
After a closing blessing, I pronounced them husband and wife and invited Tyler to kiss the bride!
And so he did amongst the cheering and applause!
After presenting the newlywed couple to the guests, they swept down the aisle and off to a hallway for photos. It was still raining and so all the pictures had to be inside. The guests were invited to go enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
One of the bridesmaids and one of the groomsmen are a couple I married in October of 2013 at Caffe Luna--Desiree and Joel. It was so good to see them again and their new baby born just about 6 weeks before this wedding. Here is a link to their wedding which was attended by Amelia and Tyler!
Amelia and Tyler, congratulations! I know it was not the sunny day you envisioned but your wedding was simply beautiful. I wish you much happiness and the best of everything!

Stacey and Anthony from New Jersey Wed in Cary, NC!

Stacey and Anthony live in Cranbury NJ which is close to Princeton NJ where I just happened to be last week giving a memorial service. Small world. They have been trying to get married for a couple of years now. But, every time they planned the wedding, something came up or happened to postpone it. So, taking the bull by the horns, Anthony called me today while he and Stacey, her 15 year old daughter, Rae Lynn, her teammates on the Central Jersey Lightning girls fast pitch softball team, and some other parents were in town for the national girls softball playoffs. When I asked about the wedding date, he said "hopefully tonight if you are available!"  I was delighted that I could if they had their marriage license. He told me that they had gotten it that morning figuring they would either marry here or along the coast of NC where they are heading after the playoffs. They asked Rae Lynn if she would prefer to have the wedding with all her teammates present or wait until they got to the beach. Rae Lynn voted for tonight and she and her teammates got busy planning the wedding. My husband, Dave, and I arrived at the Homewood Suites in Cary where they were all staying about 7:45 and met everyone then commenced with the ceremony on the hotel patio.
Stacey is escorted in through the softball bats! I forgot to ask who her escort was. Maybe someone who knows will comment on this blog and let us know!
Because the wedding was planned quickly and over the phone instead of email, Stacey and Anthony did not get to preview the ceremony. Anthony voted for a 5 minute ceremony versus a 10 minute one so I wrote a very "short and sweet" ceremony for them. At this point in the ceremony Anthony was listening very intently to me ask him the "I do" questions and made some comment that he needed to pay attention to what he was promising which got a good laugh from everyone.
After the pronouncement I told Stacey she could kiss the groom which she certainly did.
Then, Anthony moved in to kiss the bride! They were so happy to be married at last.

Congratulations, Stacey and Anthony! Thanks for the opportunity to meet and marry you. I hope all your dreams come true!
