Lindsay and Kyle's Gorgeous Wedding at the Merrimon-Wynne House!

Lindsay and Kyle are a young professional couple who are both graduates of Virginia Tech. Although their parents live in Pennsylvania and Virginia they chose to have their wedding in Raleigh at the beautiful historic Merrimon-Wynne House
Their wedding day of April 27th 2018 turned out to be perfect for their outdoor ceremony.
Joe Bunn, founder and owner of Bunn DJ Company, was our esteemed DJ. It is always a pleasure to work with Joe. He is THE BEST! He has designed this lovely white console for his DJ equipment and also markets it to other DJs around the US.
Meanwhile our photographer, A.J. Dunlap, and her two second shooters were getting beautiful photos of our wedding party at the ceremony site on the lawn. Kyle and Lindsay did a First Look which is such a wise thing to do.
What a handsome wedding party! I love the coral color of the dresses and the guys' handkerchiefs
While we had time before the guests arrived, I got my customary shot with the couple.
The Carriage House was decked out and ready for the reception to follow cocktail hour.
Tre Bella Florists furnished all the beautiful flowers.
Details Cake Design provided this pretty cake with the couple's chosen topper!
These cute little figures represent Virginia Tech Hokies!
Upstairs the guys were enjoying some Foosball time.
Meanwhile I got Aaron, our Best Man, to sign the marriage license for me.
Here is an artist's rendering of the Merrimon-Wynne House before it was moved to its current location and transformed into a wedding venue.
This cute little wagon was for our young ring bearer, Tripp, to be pulled in by our flower girl, Lily.
Mother of the Groom, Barbara, and Becca, our wedding director with C and D Events, help Lily with her headpiece.
Joe is all set up to furnish ceremony music and my sound for the ceremony.
The guests have arrived and are waiting for the processional to begin.
Becca is rounding up the groomsmen who have been ushering guests.
Meanwhile the processional line-up is inside the house.
The grandparents and parents are ushered in and seated. Then it is time for the wedding party to enter.
Kyle and I lead the groomsmen in. Then the bridesmaids entered.
Time for our flower girl and ring bearer.
Lindsay's cousin Will, father of Tripp, had to get them going in the right direction.
And he ended up walking down the aisle with them. (Children under 4 years of age don't really understand weddings and the point of walking out in front of all those "big people." And they don't take instruction very well either. But their inclusion in wedding ceremony processionals is traditional and the kids are usually family members of the couple.)
They loop around and disappear. I did not hear either of them during the ceremony so they were well behaved.
Kyle and the wedding party got a good chuckle watching the children.
Lindsay and her dad, Kurt, make their big entrance as I invited the guests to stand.
A. J. gets a photo of the bride coming down the aisle and also turns around to capture the groom's expression.
Lindsay hands off her bouquet to her sister and maid of honor, Brooke.
Dad answered my question and transferred Lindsay's hand into Kyle's and was seated while the couple turned and faced each other for the ceremony. Brooke straightened Lindsay's train.
We began with a warm welcome followed by a prayer and remembered those loved ones no longer with us.
Then I stepped out to address the parents. They did not know it was coming and since their parents have marriages that are intact and have stood the test of time, there were very special words of thanks to them.
Now for the story of how Lindsay and Kyle met as VA Tech students while they were abroad for their studies. It was a fun story to tell and I enjoyed it and so did the guests!
Stepping back into my place, it was time for their secret paragraphs about what they love about each other and what they are looking forward to in marriage.
And now for their vows to each other.......
Then the exchange of rings.......
A closing prayer.......
Pronouncement of marriage!
Kyle knew what to do!!
And they step into their new life together as husband and wife surrounded by their family and dearest friends!
Lindsay and Kyle! Congratulations on your marriage and on your wonderful beautiful wedding! It was a pleasure to work with you and join you in marriage! I wish you the best forever!
