Paige and Martin met with me on December 15th to plan their wedding on May 2, 2010. Since it was a second marriage for both, they wanted a quiet private wedding ceremony with their family members. This included Martin's children, Madeline and Ethan, Martin's parents who came up from Savannah, Paige's parents who live in Chapel Hill, and Paige's sister, Jennifer, and her husband, Scott, and their three children and Martin's brother whose name I do not remember. And two other very important guests were in attendance too, being very close family members: Fred and Ethel, their furry children. The day was warm and humid and although rain had been predicted, it did not happen.
Martin attempts to attach two Gerber daisies to Ethel's collar while Fred looks on. The flowers did not last through the ceremony but Fred's black and white polka dotted bowtie managed to stay on!
Scott had to run back to the car to get the camcorder and then we were ready to begin the service. Madeline served as the maid of honor, Ethan as best man, Fred was ring bearer and Ethel was the flower girl, of course.
I cannot remember what I said that caused Paige to wave her finger at Martin. Whatever it was it was funny!
The ceremony included recognition of all who were there and was short and sweet. They exchanged two beautiful and unique square rings.
Ethel and Fred are glad it is all over and they can sit down now! Ethel is a Shih-Tzu and Fred is an English Bulldog. I believe that both are rescue pups--at least I know that Fred is for sure. What lucky doggies!
That is Madeline, 18, on the left and Ethan, 16, on the right. Notice Madeline and Paige's killer high heels!
Martin's dad, Jack, in the blue shirt is a photographer and spent the ceremony taking photos. We finally got him in the group picture while I manned the cameras. What a great family Martin and Paige have combined for their own!
Paige and Martin, I wish you all the best in the world!
