Dawn and Bob's Wedding at Sisters' Garden!

I met Dawn and Bob last September when they came to see me about officiating their wedding on April 30, 2010 at Sisters' Garden in Raleigh. They wanted a simple wedding surrounded by close friends and family. Dawn wanted to include her children and grandchildren, too. Sisters' Garden was the perfect place for this wedding.
Bob, his groomsmen and I entered from the side door first, then Bob, Sr., escorted Bob's mother, Nan, in down the aisle and joined us up front as Bob, Jr.'s best man.
The lovely bridesmaids entered next then they were followed by Dawn's grandchildren Tristan and Sadie who were leading in Addison, probably the youngest flower girl I have seen as she is not quite 11 months old. It was a long walk down that aisle and she needed the steadying hands of her siblings! When they reached the front, Addison was held during the ceremony by her father, Steve, one of the groomsmen. She managed to be quiet during the whole ceremony which must be a record!
Dawn's son, Billy, escorted our pretty bride down the aisle.
This wedding was so beautifully color coordinated. Dawn's colors were black, white and watermelon. I had gotten a pink dress a few weeks earlier and it matched her colors perfectly so I fit right in with my black prayer stole.
I think what I am saying at this point in the ceremony is that their relationship started out as a blind date and Dawn was very nervous and hesitant about going but her sister, Holly, told her “go and have dinner with the guy; just have a good time--You are not marrying him!"  Or, I could have been saying that "Bob has set the record for bachelorhood in his family....even lasted longer than his Uncle Oge."
Dawn is saying "Bob, this ring is a symbol of my love. With it, I take a piece of my heart and place it into yours.  May it encircle our spirits and bind us together forever."
And I am saying "Dawn and Bob, by the love that has brought you here today, by the vows you have exchanged, and by the integrity of your commitment, in the presence of the witnesses here, and in the presence of God, it is my pleasure and my honor to now pronounce you husband and wife."
Dawn has a grip on Bob and is not letting this one get away!!
I don't think he wants to ever let go of Dawn anyway!
From left to right: Katie (Dawn's daughter), Holly (Dawn's sister), Bob with Tristan (Dawn's grandson) in front, Dawn, (don't' know this guy...maybe Holly's hubby?) with Sadie in front of him, Dana (Dawn's daughter and mother of the three grandchildren), Scott (Dana's husband) holding Addison, and Billy (Dawn's son).
And so the deed is done--they're married now! My best wishes for joy, peace and happiness to you, Bob and Dawn!

Our Vendors:

I love working with Marc at Sisters' Garden. He is so organized and so personable. We have done so many weddings together. He is a champion wedding director! Thanks again, Marc. I will see you next week!

Here is the beautiful banquet hall at Sisters' Garden. It is so spacious and well appointed. And, the food is delicious. See how well the colors of the wedding are reflected here?
Sidney of The English Garden did the floral arrangements, the bouquets ready to be picked up by the bridesmaids and the bride, and the boutonnieres.
Here is Terri Lillich of Carolina Mediastar in action! His son, James, was also with him learning the ropes of wedding photography. I so enjoy working with Terri and he is a terrific photographer!
This beautiful cake was provided by Lori of Simply Cakes.

Thanks, Dawn! Your careful and meticulous visioning of your dream ceremony was wonderfully accomplished! Did you also arrange for the beautiful knock-out roses to be in full bloom and of course just the right shade of pink?? I am honored to have been a part of your special day. My love to you and Bob and your families.
