Jennifer and Darko wanted to tie the knot in April in the home they have been building together in Holly Springs. They did not want a big fancy affair but they wanted a ceremony that they could invite their friends and relatives to attend. Later they called me and wanted to move the wedding date to October 11, 2008 because their home would be closer to being finished by then. Darko is doing most of the fine finishing details himself and I could tell he is a wonderful craftsman. Darko is from Croatia and wanted time for his mother who lives in Croatia to make plans to be with them and a lot of Jennifer's relatives are from upstate New York. Their two dogs were also in attendance and a bit confused with all the guests!
The ceremony took place in their beautiful home on the deck overlooking the woods. It was so peaceful and serene. Darko's mother, Barica, stood proudly by his side and Jennifer's sister, Linda, was her maid of honor. The ceremony they chose was simple but very meaningful to them as we recognized and thanked their parents and their guests. The vows were made and rings exchanged. Then I made the happy pronouncement as the happy couple beamed at their guests. What a happy time in their lives! My best wishes to you, Jennifer and Darko!
PS. They were so tall, I felt like a midget! In fact most of the 5 weddings I did this weekend were with very tall brides and grooms, especially the grooms, and I am not a shorty at 5'5"! In fact, my neck is sore from looking up at all of them!
