What do you do with a room on top of a building in downtown Raleigh that is 3 sides of glass and a terrace? You call it The Glass Box! Smart move by the women of Empire Properties who manage the wedding venues of All Saints Chapel and The Stockroom at 230 on top of which is The Glass Box.
On Saturday April 8th, 2017 Dave and I found parking in downtown Raleigh and walked over to The Stockroom on Fayetteville Street. The door is right next to this ATM. Wedding guests know when they are in the right place from the sign in front of the door announcing the wedding.Taking the elevator all the way to the top brings us out into The Glass Box where many small weddings, style shoots, bridal suite for large weddings at The Stockroom, and one beautiful proposal I know of have taken place. I get busy having the mothers sign the marriage license for me first thing.
This lovely cake was made by The Cupcake Shoppe. The flowers are from The English Garden.
David Oh with Florian Music sets up and begins playing wonderful music on his cello.
It is a beautiful sunny day as you can see.
From the rooftop terrace the view is incredible!
Cocktails will be served out on the terrace after the ceremony.
Our photographers for this wedding are Amanda and Grady Nichols. They are so nice to work with!
Almost all the guests have arrived and we are almost ready to start getting them seated for the ceremony.
Alex and I entered first then held our breaths hoping their daughter, Lux, would do the honors of sprinkling the petals before her mother and her grandfather processed in.
And she did a great job!
Kristy Lynn and her father Dennis then began their walk down the aisle.
Her father gave them their blessings and everyone was seated.
A sweet tribute to their parents was next followed by sweet words to the couple's daughter, Lux.
A few words on love and marriage and then they exchanged their vows to one another.
Handing Kristy Lynn's ring to Alex.....
Then Kristy Lynn places Alex's ring on his finger.
I pronounced them husband and wife and invited them to seal their union with a kiss!
The first kiss was so brief, I asked them to kiss again. Alex is going in for the second kiss!
Oh, yes, much better and everyone applauded them!
Presentation of the newlyweds!
And out they go!
Onto the terrace to receive the well wishes of their guests!
Here comes Lux!
A quick shot of their guest book and photos before we left.
Congratulations, Kristy Lynn and Alex! I loved your wedding and how you planned it to fit you just right. Thank you for giving me the honor of joining you in matrimony. Wish you all the best!
