If you follow my blog, you know that I love St. Mark's Chapel! It is the sweetest little chapel. It was built in the 1800s and eventually made its way to the campus of the Mordecai house clustered with other historic buildings owned by the City of Raleigh. Kimberly and Tom loved the chapel too and decided it was the perfect setting for their wedding on July 2nd, 2016.
The families of Kimberly and Tom were already present when I arrived.
The musicians of Arioso Strings were settled into the back of the chapel and already playing.
Cara with F8 Studios was on hand to capture this wedding. Cara and I do a lot of weddings together and love seeing each other. In fact, Cara is one of the few professional photographers who does not mind having her picture taken! She is such a sweetie!
The bride is ready and so is everyone else. Time to start the processional.
After the mothers of the couple were seated, Tom and I took our places along with our best man, Tommy, Tom's son. Then it was time for the bride. The florals were by Flowers by Design.
Kimberly's father proudly escorts her into the chapel and down the aisle.
He placed Kimberly's hand into Tom's hand and waited for the bride's train to clear before taking his seat.
It was a small intimate family wedding in which Kimberly and Tom were surrounded by the people most important to them.
I specifically addressed their family members, remembered Tom's late father, and then a special blessing for Tommy who was already an integral part of the family that Kimberly and Tom have built for the past few years.
They exchanged their vows of marriage with each other.
Then they exchanged rings sealing their vows.
I pronounced them husband and wife and invited them to share their first kiss as a married couple!
That was a "drive-by kiss" and I told them they needed to do better!
They thought that was really funny but......
They were happy to do it over and make it longer so we could get a photo!
The newlyweds!
Kimberly and Tom, you are a great couple and I enjoyed working with you and getting you married! Congratulations and best wishes always!
