Cathy and Pat are a wonderful couple and such a good match for each other. I met with them last March to plan their wedding September 27, 2014 at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary. They have both waited until they were settled down in their lives and careers before they found each other. (You know, there are 2 questions in life. 1. Where are you going? 2. Who is going with you? Don't ever get them reversed!) So their wedding date was absolutely a gorgeous day. Their wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful spacious garden next to the art center.
When Marty and I arrived for their wedding, the first thing I noticed is that the big old crape myrtle tree that used to stand to the right of the pergola had been replaced by this stunning silver sculpture of a horse. It was most interesting because as you approach it from the front, it looks like it is all connected.
When you look at it from the side it is actually in two pieces!
Near the horse sculpture our DJ, Sheena with Blysslike Sounds, was set up to provide music and amplification of my voice. I got my mic all set up and we did a sound check then I explained the processional. The sound was perfect. I so appreciate a DJ who knows what she is doing!!
Our adorable ring bearer was walking around with the interesting wooden box that held the rings.
Meanwhile, back inside the gallery, Marty found this beautiful wedding cake by Cakes by Frances. The Cook Shack staff were setting up outside on the patio to cater the wedding.
Outside the reception area our groom, Pat, and his best man, Joe. Notice Pat's shoes?
The pretty florals were by the English Garden. Our photographer was Grace Hallman, design student at NCSU.
The bride is hiding out upstairs where we can look out at the garden and watch the guests arriving.
Cathy's shoes!
Pat and I are ready to begin.
We entered and took our places up front.
The junior bridesmaid and junior groomsman entered.
Then Joe, Best Man, escorted Victoria, Maid of Honor, to the front.
Our Ring Bearer, Sean, came forward and Joe took the rings out of the box.
Pat's father, Romain, proudly escorted his daughter down the aisle.
He transferred her hand into Pat's and then they ascended the steps to be joined in marriage!
We began with a welcome to all the guests and a prayer from First Corinthians. Then we acknowledged their parents.
They met 2½ years ago and their love has grown stronger and more beautiful.
They answered "I do" to their vows then exchanged rings.
It's done!
Pat and Cathy, you are great! What a pleasure to work with you and join you in matrimony. Thank you! I wish you all the best and have fun on your honeymoon to Italy!!
