Deirdre and Ryan Tie the Knot at The King's Daughters Inn!

Deirdre and Ryan were married on November 7th, 2015 at the historical King's Daughters Inn, a comfortable cozy B&B in Durham, popular for intimate relaxed weddings. And that fit Deirdre and Ryan's vision for their wedding perfectly. They are a delightful couple! I loved the story of how they met and was so happy to join them in marriage.
This comfortable old home is so relaxing and the epitome of Southern hospitality.
The main parlor where the wedding ceremony will take place. The sofas and chairs have been rearranged to face the window where the bride and groom and I will stand.
The lovely dining room for Durham Catering Company to serve a delicious meal after the wedding.
These are the main stairs leading up to the second floor.
When Dave and I first arrived, I connected with Tia Jones, the wedding planner for Deirdre and Ryan. Tia and I have done many weddings together and I love working with her. She had everything under control, as usual!
I entered after the groom's parents and mother of the bride were escorted in. Ryan and his best man, Adam, followed. Then Brigid, the maid of honor and sister of the bride, entered next.
Deirdre is escorted in by her father as all the guests stood in her honor.
When they reached the front, Albert placed Deirdre's hand into Ryan's hand and then took his place next to her mother. At that point I asked "Who gives their blessing for the union of Deirdre and Ryan?" All the parents then said "We do." Then everyone was seated.
Following words of welcome and a prayer, we remembered those not with on this special day.
Their parents are standing to receive the heartfelt thanks from the couple and a tribute to their intact marriages which are an inspiration to Deirdre and Ryan.
Deirdre and Ryan first met on line in 2011 after a friend of Deirdre's went to the trouble of putting up a profile for her. But Deirdre got bored pretty quickly and shut down her profile. But she had definitely gotten Ryan's attention so much so that he went on a search for her. So knowing just her first name, the town she lived in and what she looked like, he found her on Facebook. But, she had blocked messages from everyone but her friends, so he had to "friend" her first and hope she would "friend" him back. Thankfully she did--in fact she was so flattered by his tenacity and attention that she agreed to meet him in person, figuring that after a few dates, things would fizzle out. Obviously that did not happen!
I love telling each of them what they have told me they love about each other and what they are looking forward to in marriage.
They read their vows to each other from my book.

So happy to pronounce these two husband and wife!
They did not hold back on the kiss to seal their vows!

And away they go!
Such a sweet wedding! Everyone seemed to really enjoy the ceremony and witness these two tie the knot! Ryan and Deirdre, congratulations! It was perfectly you! I wish you peace, love and joy!
