A Colorful Wedding for Lieke and Roy in My Wedding Garden!

I met Roy and Lieke last August as they were planning their wedding. At the time Roy was still in Virginia but looking to relocate to North Carolina soon which he was successful in doing. They were planning on a wedding Tuesday April 2nd, 2018 and loved the idea of my garden rather than the courthouse.
And so the big day came and it was a beautiful spring day. The azaleas were putting on a show! The guests had arrived and I invited them to stand for our bride and groom.
Roy and Lieke entered from my family room down the "aisle" to the garden.
They turned and faced each other after Lieke handed her bouquet to her mother, Maria, to hold.
The azalea bushes were filled with blooms! And a bird was chirping quite loudly during the ceremony. A really happy sign!
After welcoming everyone I spoke to their parents, Maria and Wout, and Lorene and Ernest, and thanked them on behalf of their children for all their love and support.
One of our younger guests!
Roy's daughter, Claire, came forward and received a blessing. We regretted that Roy's other daughter Kaitlyn could not be with us for the ceremony but she is very much a part of the marriage celebrated that day.
At this point I briefly told the story of how Lieke and Roy met and fell in love and how Roy proposed.
Then some words on love and marriage before their vows.
They made their promises to each other.
Time to seal their vows with the rings.
Roy placed the ring on Lieke's finger and said his vows to her.
Then Lieke put the ring on Roy's finger.
After a closing blessing, I placed my hand on theirs and pronounced them husband and wife!
The sweet kiss!
Presenting them to their guests!
Claire poses with these sweet little girls who are so cutely dressed up for this occasion!
Lieke and Roy! Congratulations to you on your marriage and for a beautiful wedding! You are a great match and I wish you all the best forever!
