Sweet Home North Carolina Wedding for Kelly and Kenny!

Kelly and Kenny had originally planned to have their wedding in New Jersey before they moved to North Carolina. Plans changed and they decided to wait and get married after moving to Raleigh. Kelly contacted me because I had officiated the wedding of her mother, Lois, to her stepdad, Michael, back in 2009 at their home in Raleigh. They were able to be flexible with the time of the wedding on April 12, 2014 so it would fit into my wedding schedule.
So Marty and I arrived at Lois and Michael's home and met Kelly's grandmother, Marie, and Kelly's father, Wayne. Wayne had driven from his home in Pennsylvania to get his mother Marie in NJ and bring her with him to the wedding. Here she is sitting alongside her great-granddaughter, Emma, the daughter of Kelly and Kenny. It was a beautiful day for this wedding in their pretty backyard.
Michael and Lois set up the music for the processional of the bride and her father on their iPad.
Kenny, Kelly's sons Desmond and Braden, and I are waiting for the bride!
Wayne proudly escorts in his lovely daughter!
We honored Kelly's parents and her grandmother who were present and remembered Kenny's parents who unfortunately were unable to travel to NC for the wedding.
Then Kenny had some words for his new, now official, stepsons and made his promises to them. I could tell they were pretty happy little boys!
They exchanged vows and rings and then we had the Family Unity Sand Ceremony.
There was a container of sand for the 3 children as well as for the bride and groom. They poured into a pretty shadowbox with a glass front engraved with their names and date of wedding.
I pronounce you husband and wife!!
One big happy family now living in NC! It was 82 degrees and after the wedding Kelly, who has not yet acclimated to the southern temps, needed to go inside and cool off! The summers may be a bit hot but you will REALLY appreciate the winters, Kelly!
Congratulations, Kenny and Kelly! Thank you for the opportunity to carry on the tradition of officiating your family weddings! I wish you the best always!
