Rachel contacted me a few weeks ago to officiate hers and Simon's wedding. They wanted a simple uncomplicated ceremony with no frills, no fan fare. They had considered going to the courthouse but really wanted to have their parents, grandparents, and siblings present and especially their three beloved dogs! Can't do that at the courthouse! So, we made arrangements for me to come to their home on Friday morning September 3, 2010 and conduct their wedding ceremony in their backyard.
They said their vows to each other and exchanged rings.
I made the pronouncement of marriage and they sealed their vows with a kiss. Everyone applauded and congratulated them while I had Simon's sister, Kathleen, and Rachel's brother, Daniel, sign the marriage license as witnesses.
They took some photos and Marty and I left for Duke Gardens for a rehearsal for Saturday. Congratulations, Rachel and Simon!
